The yellow-bellied weasel is a small weasel named for its yellow underside, with a dark brown back and tail. The body is 25–27 cm long and the tail 12–15 cm, about half the body length. Its range covers Bhutan, Myanmar, China, India, Laos, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam, and it is reported from pine forests (Wikipedia, general species account).
It feeds on birds, mice, rats, voles and other small mammals. It builds a den in the ground and breeds once a year, with mating in late spring or early summer. The kits are reported to be ready to hunt by themselves at about eight weeks. Very little else is documented, so this entry is short.
