Cyclemys oldhamii
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
Range
Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Oldham's Leaf Turtle (Cyclemys oldhamii) is a reptile recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “Expert range list”. The accepted scientific name is retained because regional taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking taxa may require detailed morphology or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
Cyclemys leaf turtles are semi-aquatic forest turtles that use shallow streams, pools, wet ground and dense leaf litter. Their brown shells and radiating markings provide camouflage, while juveniles are often more strongly patterned than adults. They forage opportunistically for plant material and small animals. Similar species can be difficult to separate without shell and plastron characters. These are genus-level notes rather than Vietnamese field observations, so exact size, diet, habitat and clutch figures are omitted (general Cyclemys account; Reptile Database).
