The orca, or killer whale, is a toothed whale and the largest member of the oceanic dolphin family. The only extant species in the genus Orcinus, it is recognisable by its distinct pigmentation: mostly black on top, white on the bottom and with white eye patches (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is a cosmopolitan species found in all oceans. The cached account is limited here, so this entry is restricted to identification and general range.
