Size
Forearm 43–56mm; ear 15–20mm; tail 21–30mm
The Chinese rufous horseshoe bat has a forearm of 43–56 mm, an ear of 15–20 mm and a tail of 21–30 mm. The fur on its back is two-toned, the basal two-thirds of each hair brownish white and the tips reddish brown, and the belly fur is paler and brownish white. It is most easily confused with the intermediate horseshoe bat, from which it is best told apart by a straight-sided lancet in the nose-leaf and a relatively short second phalanx of the third digit (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Nepal and Vietnam, and roosts in caves, often with other bat species. The cached account gives no diet or breeding information.
