The streaked spiderhunter is a sunbird-family bird similar in size to a sparrow, olive-yellow with multiple darker streaks, a long, curved black bill adapted to a nectar diet, and yellow legs, pale yellow below streaked with black. Its range extends from central Nepal towards north-east India, much of Indochina, central parts of the Malay Peninsula and the Chinese provinces of Yunnan and Guangxi, in subtropical or tropical moist lowland and montane forest (Wikipedia, general species account).
It can be found alone or in pairs. The nesting season is March to July, and the nest is usually made of leaves tied together with cobwebs and attached to the reverse side of a leaf. It feeds on the nectar of flowers such as wild banana blossom.
