Scaly-crowned Babbler

The scaly-crowned babbler (Malacopteron cinereum) is a species of bird in the family Pellorneidae. It is found in Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. Malacopteron cinereum is the scientific name used by the project species list. The description here uses general species-wide information and does not imply that every trait has been documented separately in Vietnam. (Wikipedia, general species account).

The accessible general account establishes the species identity, distribution and the natural-history points stated above. Behaviour, diet and breeding can vary geographically, and the available source does not support adding precise Vietnam-specific measurements or nesting dates. This profile therefore retains only species-wide information that can be stated defensibly, rather than filling gaps with unsupported local claims (Wikipedia, general species account).
