Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Leptoseps poilani (Leptoseps poilani) is a lizard recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “Expert range list”. The exact scientific name is retained because many Vietnamese geckos and skinks are recently described, geographically restricted or difficult to distinguish from close relatives. This profile therefore separates confirmed identity and occurrence from broader ecological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size or breeding details (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
Leptoseps are elongate, limb-reduced skinks adapted to moving within leaf litter and loose forest soil. They are secretive and probably feed on small soil and litter invertebrates, with many observations coming from specimens uncovered beneath logs or debris. Their external similarity makes scalation and locality important. These are conservative genus-level notes because detailed species-specific natural history remains limited (general Leptoseps ecology; Reptile Database).
