Hume's leaf warbler, or Hume's warbler, is a small leaf warbler that breeds in the mountains of inner Asia and is migratory, wintering mainly in India. Like most leaf warblers it has greenish upperparts and off-white underparts, and with its long eyebrow, crown stripe and yellow-margined tertials it is very similar to the yellow-browed warbler, the best distinction being the more disyllabic call. The English and specific names commemorate Allan Octavian Hume, a British civil servant and ornithologist based in India (Wikipedia, general species account).

The song is buzzing and high-pitched. The eastern and western Hume's leaf warblers already show noticeable differences in mtDNA and calls, but their songs do not differ, and they are reproductively isolated only by allopatry and not usually considered separate species. SoIB 2023 rates it a Low conservation priority, a winter migrant and localised summer migrant of forest and plantation with a Large range of about 583,000 km² and stable trends (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
