Griffin's leaf-nosed bat is a species of roundleaf bat first seen in 2008 and formally described in 2012. It is found only in Vietnam, at two places: Cat Ba Island in the north and Chu Mom Ray National Park. It is similar to the great roundleaf bat species complex, with which it shares habitat, but has distinguishing characters: it is relatively smaller and its echolocation differs (Wikipedia, general species account).

Echolocation frequencies range from 76.6 to 79.2 kHz, higher than those of the great roundleaf bat subspecies (64.7 to 71.4 kHz). The wing is 8.3–9 cm long. It became one of the 367 important new species reported from the Greater Mekong during 2012 and 2013.
