The dusky warbler is a leaf warbler that breeds in the east Palearctic. The adult has an unstreaked brown back and buff underparts, with a prominent whitish eyebrow and a fine, pointed bill; young birds are more olive-tinged above. It is strongly migratory and winters in South and Southeast Asia, and prone to vagrancy as far as western Europe in October, despite a 3,000 km distance from its breeding grounds (Wikipedia, general species account).
The nest is built low in a bush and five or six eggs are laid. The song is a monotonous whistle and the call a harsh check, often the first clue that this typically skulking species is present away from the breeding grounds. SoIB 2023 rates it a Low conservation priority, a winter migrant of wetland that eats invertebrates, with a Moderate range of about 205,000 km² and insufficient data on trends (Wikipedia, general species account; SoIB 2023).
