Schoeniparus klossi
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
The black-crowned fulvetta (Schoeniparus klossi) is a bird species in the family Pellorneidae. Until recently it was considered a sub-species of the rufous-winged fulvetta. It is endemic to Vietnam. Schoeniparus klossi is the scientific name used by the project species list. The description here uses general species-wide information and does not imply that every trait has been documented separately in Vietnam. (Wikipedia, general species account).
Like many crows, this species is an adaptable, intelligent forager with a broad diet and strong bill. Crows commonly search on the ground as well as in trees, taking invertebrates, plant material and other available foods, and build substantial stick nests. Local habits should be interpreted from the species-level account above rather than assumed from the family alone (general Corvidae ecology).
