The black-browed reed warbler is a marsh warbler that breeds from eastern Mongolia and southeastern Russia to eastern China and Japan and winters in Southeast Asia. It is similar to and closely related to the more widespread Eurasian reed warbler and spends its time foraging close to the ground inside undisturbed reed beds. It was first described by Robert Swinhoe in 1860 (Wikipedia, general species account).
