Hyla simplex
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
Range
Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Annam Tree Frog (Hyla simplex) is an amphibian recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “GBIF: 61 Vietnam records”. The accepted scientific name is retained because regional taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking taxa may require detailed morphology or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Amphibian Species of the World taxonomy).
Hyla tree frogs are small climbing frogs with adhesive toe pads, generally active at night in vegetation around breeding water. Males advertise with species-specific calls, and eggs develop into aquatic tadpoles, but habitat and reproductive timing vary widely. Identification may depend on call, colour pattern and morphology together. These are genus-level notes rather than observations of this species in Vietnam, so exact body size, call, habitat and clutch figures are omitted (general Hyla biology; Amphibian Species of the World).
