Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits

Vampyrius (Vampyrius vampyrus) is an amphibian recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “GBIF: 17 Vietnam records”. The accepted scientific name is retained because regional taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking taxa may require detailed morphology or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Amphibian Species of the World taxonomy).

Vampyrius is a distinctive arboreal rhacophorid lineage from humid forest. Expanded toe pads support climbing, while reproduction involves water held in vegetation or tree cavities rather than broad open ponds. The unusual tadpole ecology reported for the genus should not be generalized without a species account. These are genus-level notes rather than observations from a particular Vietnamese locality, so exact body size, call, habitat, diet, clutch and development values are omitted (general Vampyrius context; Amphibian Species of the World).
