Leioptila annectens
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
The rufous-backed sibia (Leioptila annectens) is a passerine bird in the family Leiothrichidae. It was formerly placed in the genus Heterophasia but is now the only species in the genus Leioptila. It is found from the Himalayas to south-central Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Leioptila annectens is the scientific name used by the project species list. (Wikipedia, general species account).
The accessible general account establishes the species identity, distribution and the natural-history points stated above. Behaviour, diet and breeding can vary geographically, and the available source does not support adding precise Vietnam-specific measurements or nesting dates. This profile therefore retains only species-wide information that can be stated defensibly, rather than filling gaps with unsupported local claims (Wikipedia, general species account).
