Pseudocophotis kontumensis

Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Pseudocophotis kontumensis (Pseudocophotis kontumensis) is an agamid or gecko recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. The supporting occurrence note is “Expert range list”. Its use of the exact scientific name is important because Southeast Asian lizard taxonomy changes frequently and several close relatives were described only recently. Where a familiar English name is present it is retained; otherwise the scientific name avoids inventing an unsupported vernacular name (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
Pseudocophotis are forest-dwelling agamids of the central Vietnamese highlands. Available records associate them with cool, humid montane vegetation, where their cryptic bodies and prehensile-looking tails suit movement among branches and shrubs. They are expected to take small invertebrates like related draconine agamas. These are conservative genus-level notes; detailed diet and breeding remain insufficiently documented locally (original taxonomic literature; Reptile Database).
