Polypedates braueri
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
Range
Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Polypedates braueri (Polypedates braueri) is an amphibian recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “GBIF: 195 Vietnam records”. The accepted scientific name is retained because regional taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking taxa may require detailed morphology or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Amphibian Species of the World taxonomy).
Polypedates are arboreal rhacophorid frogs with expanded toe pads for climbing through shrubs and trees. Many breed around still or slow water and place eggs in foam nests on vegetation or surfaces above water, allowing tadpoles to drop into the pool after hatching. Calling sites and habitat tolerance differ among species. These are genus-level notes rather than observations of this Vietnamese record, so exact size, call, habitat and clutch figures are omitted (general Polypedates biology; Amphibian Species of the World).
