Occidozyga lima
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
Range
Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Lima Frog (Occidozyga lima) is an amphibian recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “GBIF: 244 Vietnam records”. The supplied scientific name is retained because regional frog taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking species may require calls, detailed morphology or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Amphibian Species of the World taxonomy).
Occidozyga puddle frogs are small, often squat aquatic or semi-aquatic frogs associated with shallow pools, marsh edges, ditches and other still or slow water. They remain close to the surface or muddy margins, hunt small invertebrates and reproduce through aquatic eggs and tadpoles. Identification can require detailed morphology and calls. These are genus-level notes rather than observations from Vietnam, so exact size, habitat, diet, call and clutch figures are omitted (general Occidozyga context; Amphibian Species of the World).
