Hemiphyllodactylus typus
Rare visitor: recorded only occasionally in this country
Range
Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Indo-Pacific Slender Gecko (Hemiphyllodactylus typus) is a lizard recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “GBIF: 13 Vietnam records”. The exact scientific name is retained because many Vietnamese geckos and skinks are recently described, geographically restricted or difficult to distinguish from close relatives. This profile therefore separates confirmed identity and occurrence from broader ecological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size or breeding details (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
This gecko is primarily interpreted through conservative family-level ecology where species-specific observations remain limited. Geckos in this group are mainly nocturnal arthropod hunters using rocks, trees, caves, leaf litter or buildings according to species, and sheltering in crevices by day. Identification depends on scalation, toe structure, pattern, genetics and exact locality. No unsupported clutch or incubation figure is inferred (general gecko ecology; Reptile Database).
