Hebius vogeli

Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Hebius vogeli (Hebius vogeli) is a snake recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “Expert range list”. The accepted scientific name is retained because regional snake taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking species may require scale counts, anatomy or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
Hebius keelbacks are generally slender, day-active snakes associated with damp forest floors, stream margins and other wet habitats. Many hunt frogs, tadpoles, fishes or earthworms, but diet and habitat vary among species. Their keeled scales and patterned bodies can appear similar across related taxa, making scalation and locality important for identification. These are genus-level ecological notes, not field observations of this particular Vietnamese record, and exact size, prey, elevation and clutch data are omitted (general Hebius account; Reptile Database).
