Cyrtodactylus bugiamapensis

Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Cyrtodactylus bugiamapensis (Cyrtodactylus bugiamapensis) is a gecko recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. The supporting occurrence note is “Expert range list”. Retaining the exact scientific name is especially important because Vietnam has exceptional gecko diversity, many species are known from very small areas, and taxonomic revisions continue to separate close-looking populations. The account therefore distinguishes confirmed identity and occurrence from broader natural-history context (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
Bent-toed geckos are generally nocturnal insect hunters that climb limestone, rock, tree trunks or other forest surfaces and shelter in crevices by day. Numerous Vietnamese species have extremely small ranges and are diagnosed by colour pattern, scale counts, body proportions and genetics. Reproduction involves eggs, but no clutch or incubation figure is inferred for this taxon. These are genus-level notes (general Cyrtodactylus ecology; Reptile Database).
