The common bottlenose dolphin, or Atlantic bottlenose dolphin, is one of three species of bottlenose dolphin in the genus Tursiops. While formerly known simply as the bottlenose dolphin, that term is now applied to the genus Tursiops as a whole. Considerable genetic variation has been described within this species (Wikipedia, general species account).

Most bottlenose dolphins are found in groups of 20 or fewer. The cached account is limited here, so this entry is restricted to identification and general range.
