Recorded from Vietnam; see species account for evidence limits
Bella Rat Snake (Archelaphe bella) is a snake recorded for Vietnam in the project inventory. Its supporting occurrence note is “Expert range list”. The accepted scientific name is retained because regional snake taxonomy and species boundaries can change, while similar-looking species may require scale counts, anatomy or genetic evidence for reliable separation. This profile therefore distinguishes the recorded identity and occurrence from broader biological context instead of inventing unsupported locality, size, diet or breeding details (project species data; Reptile Database taxonomy).
Archelaphe rat snakes are slender terrestrial or semi-arboreal colubrids associated broadly with wooded uplands and forest-edge cover. They actively search for small vertebrate prey and use body constriction rather than venom to subdue suitable prey. Pattern and scale characters are important for distinguishing them from superficially similar regional snakes. These are genus-level biological notes rather than documented observations of this particular species in Vietnam, so exact size, elevation, diet and reproductive information is not inferred (general Archelaphe account; Reptile Database).
